To get safe anesthesia and surgery, you should get a general check up before surgery.
In the case that health conditions are not conducive to surgery, or a patient has a high fever or bad cough due to the flu, the surgery should be postponed. Also, it is recommended that you keep a regular and balanced diet.

1. It is necessary to inform the doctor of any diseases (chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, psychotherapy, hepatitis, kidney), side effects to antibiotics, allergies in the past or in the present and experiences with general anesthesia in the past.
2. Starting from seven days before surgery, you must not take any type of medicine (aspirin, oriental medicine, vitamin supplements, nutritional supplements, hepatic medicine). (Only medicine for blood pressure, diabetes, anemia should be taken continuously.)
- Medicine can induce unexpected bleeding or hematoma etc.
3. Eight hours before surgery, you must not eat or drink anything. (It is possible to drink some water to take medicine for blood pressure and other medicines) - in case that food is left in the stomach, it could be pneumonia that food could be moved to lung during anesthesia .
4. Smoking cigarettes could hinder recovery and cause side effects such as inflammation, so you should give up smoking from at least two weeks before surgery and up to three weeks after surgery. In addition, never get drunk on the day before the date of surgery.
5. On the date of surgery, clothes with a front opening is convenient to wear after surgery.
6. It is good to be accompanied by a guardian, but if visiting alone, driving is dangerous after surgery, so have somebody else drive you. It is possible to move but it is dangerous and bleeding may occur after surgery.
7. Do not bring accessories or any other valuables.
8. On the date of surgery, take a bath with soap and shampoo before coming to the clinic and do not apply any make up.
9. Any nail polish should be removed.
10. Armpit hair, which is the closest to the area of surgery, should be removed.
11. Regarding monthly cycles, the period of menstruation should be avoided to reduce incidence of swelling or bruising. However, if your cycle has any overlap with the appointed date, it will not hinder the result of surgery much, so there is no need to worry about it. Taking hormones could affect the size of the mammary gland, and thus the result of surgery, so taking hormone should be prohibited.
